The South Eastern Alberta Safety Alliance Society(SEASAS) also known as Safety City is a not for profit, charitable organization whose main focus is to improve community safety through education and awareness, thus reducing and/or preventing injury related incidents. Our vision is being "Instinctively safe for life".
We are the primary Service Provider of safety programs for school aged children from kindergarten to grade 6. Last year we delivered 627 presentations to 18,335 students. In addition to delivering programs in the schools, we also partner with other organizations within our community and outlying areas to provide other injury prevention initiatives. Some of these initiatives include a weekly car seat inspection/installation clinic, Gift of Safety, a program in which we are able to provide a car seat where the parent/ guardian is financially barriered at no cost to them and numerous Bike Rodeo's and Safety Days.
Safety City currently holds the Safe Community Designation for Medicine Hat and area. This designation is a public declaration to work for a safer locality, ultimately creating a safer place to live work and play.
Since taking over a President our organization has endured some changes, however we are as focused and committed as ever working towards a safer community and eliminating injury related incidents. We now have a full complement of Board Members with varying backgrounds that are also excited to be moving our organization forward. I look forward to the future.
