Home Alone / Stay Safe

The Home Alone course is designed for children aged 9 and up, offering essential safety knowledge and skills to help them manage when they are home alone or unsupervised in the community. Led by instructors trained through the Canadian Red Cross, this course covers a range of important topics to ensure children feel confident and prepared to handle unexpected situations.

Participants learn how to recognize and avoid hazards, respond to emergencies, and seek help when necessary. The course also provides basic first aid training, including how to treat minor injuries like cuts and burns, as well as techniques for choking situations.

In addition to emergency preparedness, the Home Alone course teaches children how to make safe decisions when answering the door, responding to strangers, or navigating public spaces. Through interactive activities and real-world scenarios, children practice making responsible choices in a safe environment.

By the end of the course, participants will feel more capable of staying safe both at home and in their community. The Home Alone program not only helps children develop independence but also provides peace of mind for parents, knowing their children are equipped with more knowledge to handle common safety challenges.
